Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By Our Special Correspondent
On the whole, there were 42,525 requests for inclusion in voters' names in the 13 Assembly segments in Hyderabad, while there were only 149 requests for deletions. Interestingly, the Khairatabad constituency topped the list with as many as 9,759 requests for inclusion followed by the Maharajgunj segment, where 8,840 requests were received. The least number of requests were received in the Secunderabad constituency, according to a statement issued by the District Election Officer and Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad, Chitra Ramachandran, here on Tuesday. Ms. Ramachandran appealed to office-bearers of resident welfare associations, Non-Governmental Organisations and political parties to extend their cooperation in filing objections in respect of electors who had shifted to other areas or those who were not ordinary residents of the constituency concerned in addition to filing claims for enrolment of eligible voters. The requests had to be made in prescribed forms - Form 6 for inclusion of voters' name, Form 7 for deletion, Form 8 for correction and Form 8A for transposition within the constituency. The forms are available with all officials concerned.
