Andhra Pradesh-Hyderabad
By R. Ravikanth Reddy
Learning can never be boring for school and college students with interactive software for the courses developed.
Making optimal use of Information Technology, he created a virtual classroom - EduraNet wherein the raw course content has been converted into electronic courseware content that makes learning easy for the students. All the subjects from class 3rd to 10th (ICSE, CBSE and State syllabus) have been converted into electronic format apart from all subjects of Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech), Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Applications (MCA). "The idea is to make learning easy and enjoyable and this will supplement the teachers in a big way in making the students learn better", says Javed, the man behind the project. "Learning process has been simplified so much that students can learn with minimum effort and workload of teachers would be reduced to a great extent", he says. Another interesting aspect of the product is that it provides round the clock assistance with experienced teachers available online. What makes this software unique is that lessons are supported by video clips for every topic to generate and sustain interest among the students. "The content is inter-active and exercises and testing tools are of high quality. Importantly it is cost effective than tuitions and other educational software", Mr. Javed explains. Apart from electronic course content, EduraNet E-learning platform has different kinds of services that will help the educational institutions in their regular educational needs. It contains Learning Management System (LMS), Learning Content Management System (LCMS), Student Assessment System (SAS) and Learning Administrative System (LAS). The LMS automates the administration of training events while the LCMS enables authors to register store, assemble, manage and publish leaning content for delivery via EduraNet platform. The SAS uses a variety of tools to monitor the performance of the students and allows the institutions to take appropriate steps to improve the performance of those lagging behind. The LAS software acts as an interface between E-learning platform and the host institution's existing billing or other back office information systems for the efficient management of enrolment, fee payment and related administrative functions. Mr. Javed says several institutions have shown interest in adopting the new software to supplement the teachers' work and reduce load on them. The colleges need not invest much for their hardware components given the easy availability of Internet and other material. The entire software needs would be taken care of by the EduraNet.
