KSEB unions observe `black day'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM Dec. 2. Leftist unions in the KSEB organised demonstrations in various centres in the State in protest against the Electricity Act, 2003, as part of a nation-wide `Black Day' observance by like-minded trade unions.

The protest, coinciding with the beginning of the winter session of the Parliament, was also against the recent Supreme Court verdict banning strikes.

The protesters burned copies of the Electricity Act containing `several anti-people and anti-employee' provisions.
