According to the Sri Lankan Defence Ministry, 63 fishermen were first apprehended by naval troops on routine patrol off the northern Kayts islet. The Navy ``recovered 43 fishing nets, 11 empty diesel cans, 120 litres of diesel and 937 kg of fish among several items'' from the trawlers. The same naval patrol later apprehended a second batch of 14 Indian fishermen and ``detained'' them for questioning, the Defence Ministry said.
