Australia eases visa rules for Indian students
New Delhi
Dec. 5.
In an effort to encourage Indian students to join universities Down Under, the Australian Government has relaxed visa rules for them.
The new regulations, which came into effect from December 1, have reduced the financial requirements for an Indian undergraduate student in any Australian University by at least 33 per cent and allowed bank finance for vocational studies, an Australian High Commission release said.
At present, over 90 per cent of the 12,000 Indian students in Australia are pursuing postgraduate studies in information technology, engineering, management, accounting, applied science and hospitality. UNI
