RAIPUR Dec. 6. The priority of the new Government that takes oath tomorrow will be to instill confidence among the masses. "Now that the regime of fear and terror is over, we will have to build confidence among the people and tell them that the Government is for their welfare,'' the Chief Minister-elect, Raman Singh, told reporters here today.

Besides probing allegations of misappropriation against the former Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi, the Government will also review the decisions taken by the previous set up.

Regarding the fate of the new capital, Dr. Singh said the people did aspire for a new city but it would depend on the financial condition of the State. The priority would be the welfare of the villages and farmers.

Dr. Singh and a team of 12 Ministers is expected to take oath in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister, L.K. Advani, the BJP president, Venkaiah Naidu, several Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of the BJP-ruled States.

There is a likelihood of a senior tribal legislator being inducted as the Deputy Chief Minister.

Dr. Singh indicated that the tribals and the Scheduled Castes would be given due representation in the Cabinet. A woman Minister is also expected to be sworn in.

Only five women have been elected to the 90-member Assembly, four of whom are from the BJP while one, Kamda Jolhe, won from the Sarangarh seat on the Bahujan Samaj Party ticket.
