Vikramjit holds Barua

KOZHIKODE DEC. 6. Round five of the National men's `A' chess championship indeed saw the players fighting hard at the Chess India Complex here on Saturday. Still the biggest news of the day was a draw though, as Vikramjit Singh of Manipur, who seems determined to make an impact on his debut, continued his good run, holding fourth seed and former champion Dibyendu Barua to a draw. The Kolkata Grandmaster (GM) thus has dropped to the sole second position, with 3.5 points.

Three players are in the lead on four points — Surya Shekhar Ganguly, R.B. Ramesh and Koneru Humpy.
