Spotlight on industrial security

NEW DELHI DEC. 6. The Planning Commission Member, N K Singh, today asked the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) to prepare itself to respond to new vistas of security and to meet future challenges. "The CISF has emerged as a premier security agency which is protecting several vital government installations including airports. It now needs to explore new vistas of security."

Delivering the keynote address at a seminar on "Industrial Security: Emerging Frontiers" during the ongoing International Security, Safety & Fire Exhibition 2003" at Pragati Maidan here in the Capital, Mr. Singh said that in the coming years, CISF would have a bigger role to play in the internal security front. He also delved into the changing security and technological paradigms, new industrial contours and the role being played by these forces in the growth of an economy.

The daylong seminar, presided over by the CISF Director-General, K M Singh, was attended by over 100 delegated from across the country.

The delegates were informed about the emerging technologies and new gadgets and their role in the emerging security scenario. The deliberations on sensors as an integral input to security were an enriching experience for all the participants.
