Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
The confusion occurred over the babies born to two women at SAT on Friday. Bindu (25) had delivered a girl, while Ansila (18) had a boy. However, the babies, when they were handed over to the mothers, got swapped by mistake and this had been detected by the unit chief doctor. The parents had however refused to accept this. At the departmental inquiry, all evidences were examined, including ultra sound scan reports and the evidence given by doctors. The Superintendent of SAT, Rajmohan, later got together the parents and relatives and explained the mistake to them following which both parties agreed to take back their respective infants.
