Kalinga Rao
The music director, C. Ashwath, and the singer, Shimoga Subbanna, told presspersons here that the name of Kalinga Rao was indelible in the hearts of light-music lovers and the songs he sang were still popular. Besides, he was a major force in infusing interest in light music among the youth. The Director, Kannada and Culture, Y.K. Muddu Krishna, would inaugurate "Kalinga Rao-90", and the Minister of State for Kannada and Culture, Rani Satish, would participate in the valedictory function, they said.
