`I' group welcomes Shahi's statement

By Our Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM DEC. 9. The spokesman of the Karunakaran faction, Rajmohan Unnithan, said here on Tuesday that the moves of the UDF convener, Oommen Chandy, and opponents of the leader, K. Karunakaran, to oust the KPCC president, K. Muraleedharan, and Ministers of the Karunakaran faction and take control of the party had come to naught.

Addressing presspersons, Mr. Unnithan said that the statement of L.P. Shahi, chairman of the three-member panel set up to look into indiscipline in the party, was realistic, and a biting reply to the arguments raised by those opposed to Mr. Karunakaran.
