While the President of the party's State unit, H.N. Ananth Kumar, the Campaign Committee chairman, B.S. Yediyurappa, and several local legislators will join the dharna here, the Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly, Jagadish Shettar, along with legislators from the region will undertake the dharna in Hubli. This was announced at a press conference here today by Mr. Yediyurappa and Ramachandra Gowda, MLC, who said the other demands included ten hours of uninterrupted power supply in rural areas and for irrigation pump-sets of farmers, supply of foodgrains to green-card holders who had not yet been given yellow cards, and the resignation of the R. Roshan Baig from the Ministry for his alleged role in the stamp paper racket. Mr. Yediyurappa took exception to the telephonic instruction given by the Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, in the midst of a press conference in Mysore some time ago asking the Chief Secretary to release Rs. five lakh to gram panchayats from November 1. He charged that this was done keeping in view the elections to the Legislative Council held last week. The fact was that till today the amount had not been released. The move now was to release Rs. one lakh.
