By Shujaat Bukhari
This was decided at an extraordinary meeting of the Hindu Welfare Society, an apex body of Pandits staying back home. The society's general secretary, S.K. Tiku, said they were forced to take the decision as it was felt that the Government had failed to fulfil the promises made to the community. "On the one hand the government is talking of return of migrants to the Valley and on the other, it has failed to mitigate the sufferings of those who have stayed in the valley against odds. The government is insincere and may be waiting for another Nadimarg type carnage which could lead to the migration of even those who are left behind," Mr. Tiku said.
