Woman hit by bullet, hospitalised

CHENNAI DEC. 9. A 31-year-old woman was hospitalised after she was hit by a bullet fired from the CRPF shooting range near Avadi today.

The Chengai (East) police said Jothilakshmi sustained injuries on the right thigh. She was rushed to a private hospital at Vadapalani and the bullet (.22) was removed. Police said she was out of danger.

The woman was at her house at Pachaiyamman Nagar when the incident occurred. Police also recovered another bullet from a pawnshop near the firing range. The Avadi Tank Factory police are making further investigations.
