The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, also directed the officers concerned to institute a joint inquiry against all 22 persons under Rule 14 (A) of Karnataka Civil Services Rules in respect of 19 persons and under Rule 214 (b) of KCSR in respect of three persons who have retired from service. Those suspended are K.M. Ramachandran, District Registrar, Bangalore Urban district; H.V. Atmaramaiah, District Registrar, Bangalore Urban district; R. Lakshmaiah, District Registrar, Bangalore Urban; K.C. Rajan, Deputy Director of Treasury, Bangalore Urban Treasury, Bangalore; S.A. Bandekar, Deputy Director of Treasury, Bangalore Urban, V. Hanumanathiah, Head Accountant, office of the Deputy Director of Treasury, Bangalore Urban; D.S. Suresh, FDA and case worker; K. Ravi, SDA; Ramaswamy, the then Commissioner, CMC, K.R. Puram; Shivabasavaiah, the then Commissioner, CMC, Dasarahalli; M. Hulluraiah, the then Chief Officer, TMC, Kengeri; R.T. Gowda, the then Chief Officer, CMC, Yelahanka; Hashim bin Ali, the then Commissioner, CMC, Yelahanka; H.S. Prasannakumar, the then Commissioner, CMC, Byatarayanapura; T.H. Vishwanath, the then Commissioner, CMC, Byatarayanapura; S. Krishna, the then Commissioner, CMC, Patanagere; H.R. Jagadish, the then CMC, Pattanagere; R. Srinivasa, the then Commissioner, CMC, Bommanahalli; Sethumadava Rao, the then Sub-Treasury Officer, Bangalore North; B.N. Venkataramana, the then in-charge Sub-Treasury Officer, Bangalore North; K.N. Narasimha Reddy, FDA, Bangalore North Treasury, and K.H. Kariyappa, SDA, Bangalore North Treasury. Among the 22 persons, the KAS officers are Mr. Ramachandran, Mr. Atmaramaiah, Mr. Shivabasavaiah, Mr. S. Krishna, Mr. H.R. Jagadish, and Mr. R. Srinivasa It may be recalled that the scam came to light when the Lokayukta conducted a raid on some of the CMCs. The amount misappropriated was Rs. 231 crore and involved seven CMCs.
