Bagan has collected only four points out of a possible nine after playing three rounds. The three-time champion began pursuit of its fourth title in right earnest winning 2-0 against Mohammedan Sporting but then hit a trough. It lost its second match visiting Mahindra United and has followed it up with the barren encounter here. Agragami, which has consistently maintained a middling position as a moderate side springing up a surprise beating or drawing a more famous opponent now and then, performed true to its name and collected three points playing its third consecutive draw. The match was an insipid affair. Agragami made its defensive policy clear right from the beginning and it was left to the city giant to try out attacks. It told poorly on the finishing abilities of the green-and-maroon brigade which could not covert a single opportunity in 90 minutes of the action. Despite boasting of a multi-crore shopping list that includes four Brazilians imports, Bagan failed to justify its status as a title contender dishing out an unimaginative performance.
