CBI begins probe

Raipur Dec. 10. After registering a case against the former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister, Ajit Jogi, a three-member CBI team from Delhi today began its probe into the cash-for-MLAs scam.

Immediately on arrival here, the CBI team took over the case details from the State's Anti-Corruption Bureau and scrutinised the audiotape containing the purported conversation between Mr. Jogi and the defected BJP MP, P.R. Khunte, with the BJP State secretary, Virendra Pandey, and the Bastar party MP, Baliram Kashyap. The team will try to ascertain the source of money.
