Helplines for women

BANGALORE Dec. 10. The Karnataka State Social Welfare Board has set up helplines for women in distress.

The Chairperson of the board, Rukmini Sawkar, told presspersons here today that women in distress could call Ambika Mahila Sangha, Peenya, on 10912, or Bharatiya Adimjulla Seva Sangha on 10911 for assistance. She said the board was running 17 short-stay homes for women who needed shelter for a short duration.
