Cop identifies vehicle in Jessica case

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI DEC. 11. One of the investigating officers in the Jessica Lal murder case today identified the vehicle in which the prime accused in the case, Manu Sharma, had come to the Kutub Colonnade restaurant where the ramp model, Jessica Lal, was shot at fatally in 1999.

When the Additional Sessions Judge, Manju Goel, asked Sub-Inspector Sunil Kumar to identify the vehicle parked in the court premises, the police officer did the job and later informed the court that it was the same vehicle.

Sunil Kumar was one of the first police officers to have visited the restaurant on receiving initial information about the incident.

He will continue his deposition on Friday.

Earlier, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Apollo Hospital here, Dinesh Vats, recorded his evidence in the case. He stated that Jessica Lal was brought dead to the hospital. He identified a medical report of the deceased prepared by a doctor of the hospital.

When asked about the clothes the deceased was wearing, the CMO said the report had no mention of it. However, the witness told the court that the body was just covered with a sheet.
