By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD Dec. 11. `Teen Channel' programme was launched by Dr. Reddy's Foundation here today. The programme developed in association with the police tries to reach out to the adolescents in the age group of 13 to 17 years.

Diana Hayden, Miss World 1997, who launched the programme, advised the youth to dream big and reach out to the stars. She recalled her own humble beginning and how she rose to become the Miss World.

Nalini Gangadharan of the Foundation said Teen Channel was a unique experimentation of integrating the Child and Police (CAP) and Livelihood Advancement Business Scheme (LABS) projects. It aimed at connecting the learning and livelihood to address the quality of life and future of high school dropouts.

Manmohan Singh, Commissioner of School Education, complimented the Foundation for redefining education through its innovative programmes. This was not possible in Government schools. He agreed to the request earlier made for sparing the premises of the Government School, Chaderghat, for setting up community learning centre.

C.R. Naidu, Deputy Inspector-General of Police, and Ravi Kiran, Commissioner, Kapra Municipality, spoke.
