CM reviews old city situation

HYDERABAD DEC. 11. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, on Thursday reviewed the situation in the old city and asked officials to be alert and watch out for elements bent upon disturbing peace and harmony.

Mr. Naidu wanted the police to expedite the investigation, identify the culprits responsible for the riots and bring them to book. The Home Minister, T. Devender Goud, the Chief Secretary, Mohan Kanda, and the Director-General of Police, S.R. Sukumara, were present.

In a press release, the Commissioner of Police, R.P. Singh, said in view of Friday prayers additional police pickets, mobile patrols, mounted police and gas squads were being deployed in trouble-prone areas.
