Shocking

Sir, — It was shocking to read about the child sacrifice in Delhi (Dec. 12). It is distressing that such barbaric `rituals' go on in the name of religion. The Hindu scriptures do not endorse such inhuman acts, which cross all limits of human civility. Superstition has been a bane of this country.
