Gujarat beats Rajasthan

JAIPUR DEC. 12. Gujarat defeated Rajasthan by six wickets on the final day of its four-day Ranji Trophy Elite-B contest at the K.L. Saini Stadium, here, on Friday.

Resuming at 94 for one, chasing 174 for victory, Gujarat achieved it through fine knocks by Niraj Patel (77 not out), Akash Christian (32) and Mukund Parmar (41) to take home four full points.

Kakkar completes ton

In Delhi, Ankur Kakkar completed a well-deserved century as Punjab finished with first innings points over Railways in its Elite-A encounter.

Parab helps Baroda force a draw

Opener S.S. Parab's century helped Baroda force a draw against Delhi in its Elite-A match at the IPCL ground in Vadodara.

Andhra saves match

Andhra managed to force a draw against Uttar Pradesh in its Elite-A match at the Green Park in Kanpur. Earlier, Andhra speedster Sahabuddin took his second five-wicket haul of the match.

Hyderabad surrenders meekly

Hyderabad capitulated meekly to Bengal, losing its Elite-B contest by an innings and one run at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

At Delhi: Railways 390 & 114 for four (A. Pagnis 51 not out) drew with Punjab 472 (Yuvraj Singh 80, D. Mongia 33, P. Dharmani 43, R.S. Sodhi 31, Ankur Kakkar 124 not out, Amit Uniyal 45, Gagandeep Singh 50, Navdeep Singh 35, J.P. Yadav five for 82). Points: Punjab 2; Railways 0.

At Vadodara: Delhi 510 for seven decl. drew with Baroda 223 & 286 for three (S.S. Parab 126, R.K. Solanki 65, J.J. Martin 69 not out). Points: Delhi 2, Baroda 0.

At Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh 267 & 223 (S. Raina 79, M. Kaif 30, Sahabuddin five for 72) drew with Andhra 237 & 129 for six (Y. Gnaneswara Rao 39). Points: UP 2; Andhra 0.

Elite-B: At Kolkata: Hyderabad 252 & 135 (Utpal Chatterjee three for 46, Sourashish Lahiri four for 26) lost to Bengal 388. Points: Bengal 5 (including one bonus point); Hyderabad 0.

At Jaipur: Rajasthan 259 & 110 lost to Gujarat 196 & 176 for four (A. Christian 32, Niraj Patel 77 not out, M. Parmar 41). Points: Gujarat 4; Rajasthan 0.
