"We will give notice of a no confidence motion against the Rabri Devi government on December 16 as we feel she has lost the trust of the House,'' the Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Sushil Kumar Modi, told PTI. Mr. Modi said the NDA had resolved to bring the no-trust move to highlight the abject ``failure'' of the Rabri government in maintining even a semblance of order in the State. Her tenure has been characterised by utter lawlessness that has even led to the State police chief coming out openly against the government, he added. It will be the first no-confidence motion against her government since she came at the helm of affairs in the State on July 24, 1997. Though Ms. Rabri Devi never faced any no-trust move, she sought an easily obtained confidence vote in her Ministry four times in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, after the NDA Chief Minister, Nitish Kumar, resigned without forcing any trial of strength in the face of an imminent defeat. Even her predecessor Laloo Prasad Yadav never faced any no-trust vote, the Parliamentary Aaffairs Minister, Ramchandra Purve, said. Meanwhile, the Chief Minister has challenged the opposition to go ahead with the no-confidence motion. ``Bringing no-trust vote is the right of the opposition. I congratulate them on having dared for the first time in 14 years to bring such a motion against our government,'' she told journalists. --PTI
