Rally against globalisation planned

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI DEC. 12. The All-India Confederation of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Organisations today said a large number of employees of both government and private sectors, along with workers, would hold a rally here in the Capital this coming Sunday to oppose the Central Government's policy of privatisation and globalisation.

Stating that employees of railway, postal, finance and defence departments along with workers of public insurance sectors from all over the country would participate in the rally, the Federation's head, Udit Raj, said job opportunities were shrinking fast because of the government's "anti-poor" and "anti-Dalit" policies.

"Even the defence departments have been affected by the privatisation syndrome risking the country's security concerns," he said, adding that his organisation would build up a nation-wide movement against globalisation.
