Pancharatna kriti recital on January 12

Thanjavur Dec. 13. The 157th aradhana of the saint composer Thyagaraja will be held at the saint's samadhi on the banks of the Cauvery at Thiruvaiyaru, Thanjavur district, between January 8 and 13 next, according to G. Rangasamy Moopanar, president of the Sri Thyagabrahma Mahotsava Sabha, which conducts the annual aradhana.

In a press release, Mr. Moopanar said the inauguration will be held between 6 p.m and 7 p.m. on Thursday, January 8. On Monday, January 12, Pushya Bagula Panchami, hundreds of musicians will render the pancharatna kritis of the saint in front of his samadhi between 9 a.m and 10 a.m. The festival ends with Anjaneya utsavam on January 13.
