Sena activists stage protest

New Delhi Dec. 13. The Shiv Sena today burnt an effigy that symbolised "Islamic terrorism" on the second anniversary of the attack on Parliament and urged the Prime Minister, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, to retaliate against Pakistan instead of extending a hand of friendship.

Carrying placards, activists of the Sena's Delhi unit converged on the Jantar Mantar after a `havan' at the party office to pay homage to those who died defending Parliament two years ago.

An effigy that represented `Islamic terrorism' was set on fire as activists shouted `ISI Hai Hai', `Hurriyat Conference Hai Hai,' `Lashkar-e-Taiba Hai Hai,' `Aatankwadion Ki Vakalat Karne Vaale Vakil Rashtriya Dhrohi Hain.' Later a memorandum was submitted to Mr. Vajpayee stating that some of the accused in the Parliament attack case were still operating from jails, making a mockery of Indian laws.
