Colder days ahead in Capital

By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI DEC. 13. The Capital is likely to experience colder days in the coming week, with a slight drop in the temperature being forecast by the Met Department. Although the rainfall recorded in the city on Friday and Saturday surprisingly led to a slight rise in the day temperature, Sunday morning is likely to bring the cold back, and this time, along with a bit of mist and fog.

According to the Met Department, rainfall has been recorded in Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and a few other places including Delhi in the last 24 hours.

"The rainfall was on account of the western disturbance, which is most likely to move away by Sunday morning.

With the forecast including a cloudy sky and the possibility of thundery developments, some more short spells of rain are not ruled out.

"A slight drop in temperature is likely in the morning with a bit of mist and fog also likely to envelop the city,'' said a weather department official.

While pointing out that the western disturbance is now moving towards the North-East, the weather department said that with Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh likely to experience snowfall in the coming days, a slight drop in the temperature here could not be ruled out.
