Cricket
By Mohandas Menon
During the course of his knock, Rahul Dravid went past Gavaskar's 221 against England at The Oval in September 1979, the previous highest individual score by an Indian batsman overseas. Dravid's double hundred was the fourth of his career. He joined Gavaskar as the second Indian to record the most number of 200-plus scores in Tests. He also became the 11th batsman in Test history to make four or more 200s. Ajit Agarkar's 6-41 was the maiden five-wicket haul of his Test career. His previous best was 3-43, also at this ground in December 1999. Agarkar's figures were the second best by an Indian bowler in Australia. Kapil Dev's 8-106 at this ground in December 1985 remains the best.
