He was inaugurating a winter school sponsored by the All-India Council for Technical Education and the Indian Society of Technical Education at a function organised by the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering in Pondicherry Engineering College.
Around 40 teachers from different engineering colleges in the country and representatives of some industries are associated with the programme, which was being held under the banner `cdma 2000-an approach to 3G (Third Generation) wireless systems'.
The Principal of the Pondicherry Engineering College, K. Ethirajulu, said the ushering in of the Internet system had modified several methodologies to learn and also to teach technical subjects in institutions.
V. Prithiviraj, Head of Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, spoke.
The 3G wireless systems which promised tremendous bandwidth and multi media facilities for growing need of mobile users underscored the theme `see as much as you hear' of the 12-day programme evolved for the winter school.
