Jaswant apologises

NEW DELHI DEC. 16. The leader of the Rajya Sabha, Jaswant Singh, today apologised to the Chair for Friday's incident that had resulted in the Deputy Chairperson, Najma Heptullah, leaving the House amidst stormy scenes over admissibility of a private member's resolution seeking a ban on religious conversions.

Maintaining that there was no intention to hurt anyone, Mr. Singh, however, said, ``we respect the Chair and we apologise." — PTI
