Van knocks down three-year-old girl

BANGALORE DEC. 17. Two persons, including a child, were killed in road incidents here on Tuesday.

A three-year-old child playing by the roadside was run over by a tempo that was backing up near Shyamanna Garden of Byatarayanapura on Tuesday night.

According to police, the victim, Maskan, died on the way to a hospital.

The police have seized the tempo and arrested the driver.

In another accident, a jeep near Beggar's Colony on Magadi Road knocked down two pedestrians, on Tuesday. According to police, Basavaraju (24) from Ujjani in Kudligi taluk of Bellary district, died on the way to a hospital. Babu Nayak (30) from Banashankari had been admitted to a private hospital, the police said.

Arrested: The city police on Monday arrested a gang of seven persons on charges of attempting a robbery.

According to police, the gang planned to rob a cloth merchant in front of Agha Lodge on Police Station Road.

A team of police arrested the gang.
