The four-day joint annual conference of the IAS, the Indian Society for Prehistoric and Quaternary Studies (ISPQS) and the Indian History and Culture Society (IHCS) began here on Friday, hosted by Sri Venkateswara University's Anthropology department, where Mr. Gupta spoke. Tracing the trade routes between India and its immediate eastern and western neighbours, which he called an archeological evidence, Mr.Gupta stated that the trade had resulted not only in exchange of commercial goods, but even in transfer of ideology. Mr. Gupta said that the first issue of the "Indian Ocean Archaeology'' journal would be released on December 29. The release is planned to be held in Pakistan. Vandana Kaushik, general secretary of the IHCS, New Delhi, Jacob S.Jayaraj, organising secretary of the meet, spoke. Experts deliberated on "Anthropology, archaeology, history and cultural heritage of peninsular India'', which was inaugurated by the SVU Vice-Chancellor, P.Murali.
