Abdul Karim Telgi
Only one of the three tests suggested by the court was conducted today, the Additional Director-General of Police and head of the Karnataka Stamp Paper Investigation Team, R. Srikumar, told The Hindu. Only Telgi was subjected to the test which would go on for some more days. Mr. Srikumar said he did not know what transpired during the test as the Maharashtra police team conducted it. The court had allowed the police team to perform "P-300 brain finger-printing'', lie-detector and narco-analysis tests on Telgi and seven others. Warrant against Rehan Baig The Karnataka police team said that it could not locate Rehan Baig, brother of the Minister for Small Scale Industries, R. Roshan Baig. On December 15, the IX Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Bangalore, issued an arrest warrant against Dr. Baig. The Karnataka police team has seized the passport of Dr. Baig. The Karnataka team made one more arrest today in connection with the case. The case was registered with the Upparpet Police Station in 2000. The name of the arrested person was given as Fayaz Khan (34) of Tumkur. He had allegedly helped Telgi and his associates in the sale of stamp papers.
