He won the national finals of the Intel Science Talent Discovery Fair held in the city from December 17 to 19 with his Mathematics work - `An interesting property of Right Angle Triangle'. In all, there were 150 works on display with a panel of judges drawn from various premier scientific institutions deciding on the winners. Son of a technical director in a city-based software firm, Sameer says he would like to apply his theory in structural engineering and make calculations easy. "I did not expect that I would be winning this trip and I am really happy," the boy, who aspires to become a space scientist, said. The other national winners include Amruth B.R. of Sadvidya Composite Pre University College, Mysore, Kanishka Raajkumar of Baldevdas Kikani Vidyamandir Matric Higher Secondary School, Coimbatore, Harshini Ramachandran of Shri Bejairaj Sajjanraj Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School, Chennai, Shriram Jayraman and Srividya Swaminathan of Modern English School, Mumbai, and Zeshan Sayed and Rishi Mahavir Patil of Shreerang Vidyalaya, Thane.
