Speaking on the occasion Mr. Damodaran congratulated the recipients and exhorted others to emulate their act of courage. Those honoured were sub-inspector, Krishna Murari, and head constables Mathura Singh and Babu Lal. Mr. Murari, an Instructor in the Academy who hails from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh was awarded the DG's Disc for his dedicated service in the North East and Jammu and Kashmir for the past 33 years. Mathura Singh, a native of Bhilwara in Rajasthan has been a veteran of many anti-terrorist operations in the North East and Punjab. He is at present a weapons' training instructor with the Academy. Babu Lal, who has a track record of fighting insurgency and terrorism for the past 23 years in Mizoram, Assam, Nagaland and Srinagar, is the recipient of 29 cash rewards and six commendation certificates. He is from Karauli district in Rajasthan.
