AIADMK demands protection to property owners

By Our Staff Reporter

Pondicherry Dec. 20. The Secretary of the Pondicherry State Committee of the AIADMK and MLA, A. Anbalagan, has said that the party will present memoranda to the Union Home Ministry and the Tamil Nadu Governor, P.S. Ramamohan Rao, holding additional charge of the Administrator of Pondicherry, seeing their intervention to protect the interests of property owners in Pondicherry.

Talking to presspersons here today, he alleged that instances of grabbing of property by presenting fake stamp papers and undervaluing market value were reported recently.

The party would draw the attention of the Centre and the Administrator to the lack of security for property owners.

Ko. Sugumaran, secretary of the Federation of People's Rights here, said the organisation had sent a petition to the National Human Rights Commission seeking its intervention to protect the property owners.

The Commission was urged to direct the Pondicherry Administration to initiate action against those attempting to usurp property illegally.
