Over 120 children taken ill

VIJAYAWADA DEC. 20. Over 120 schoolchildren belonging to Padrika Upper Primary School were taken ill reportedly after consuming mid-day meals served in the school at Kruthivenu mandal of Krishna district on Saturday.

While 31 students were treated as outpatients, the remaining had been admitted as inpatients in the local primary health centre PHC), reports reaching here said.

The meal was prepared by the local Markendaya DWACRA group. After consuming the food served, the children started vomiting. They were rushed to the hospital immediately. Two medical teams had been rushed from Bundar to assist doctors in the PHC.
