Indian becomes Parliamentary Secretary in Canada

Toronto Dec. 20. Bobby Jindal may have failed to make the grade in the United States but in Canada, Gurbax Singh Malhi, has steadily climbed the political ladder to become the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry.

The immigrant from Punjab, who began his life in Canada as a factory worker, was recently sworn in as Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Industry with special emphasis on Entrepreneurs and New Canadians.

This is the first time that parliamentary secretaries have been assigned specific responsibilities.
