They demanded that action be taken against members of a certain community, who, they alleged, had intentionally kept the cloth and the stones at the place of worship. The police organised a peace meeting between members of both the communities. They arrested Moinuddin in connection with the incident, and promised to conduct an inquiry into the matter. They said the situation was peaceful and under control. Villagers told The Hindu that Moinuddin, a destitute, was mentally challenged.
