Lucky escape for auto drivers

By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE DEC. 20. It was a miraculous escape for two autorickshaw drivers at Shivananda Circle here in the early hours of Saturday.

The driver of a lorry coming from Windsor Sheraton Hotel lost control of the vehicle and rammed it against a water tanker coming in the opposite direction. The impact of the collision was such that the water tanker swerved to the left and hit two autorickshaws in which its drivers were sleeping. The autorickshaws dashed against the wall of a jewellery shop, the police said. The autorickshaw drivers, Manju (28) and Shivakumar (30) from Kamalanagar and the driver of the water tanker, Rame Gowda (42) from Srirampuram were injured in the accident.
