Amartya Sen to rejoin Harvard

Kolkata Dec. 21. Nobel -laureate, Amartya Sen, the Master of Trinity College, Cambridge, is rejoining the Harvard University next month.

``I will be joining the Harvard University as Lamont Professor of Economics and Professor of Philosophy on January 15, 2004,'' Dr. Sen said here.

Before being appointed as the Master of Trinity College in 1998, he held the same chair in Harvard University since 1988.

He won the Nobel Prize for Economics during his tenure as the Master of Trinity College. He was appointed by the Queen in January 1998.

Releases book

Dr. Sen released a book on the life and works of his father, eminent agriculture and soil scientist, Asutosh Sen, on Saturday.

The Book, titled "Prasanga- Asutosh Sen" (Theme - Asutosh Sen), is a collection of essays on the childhood, education, career and his work among the farmers to propagate scientific agriculture. — PTI
