Police said that a four-member gang stabbed Pullaiah (28), of A.K. Colony, Domlur, when he was coming out of a public call office in BDA Layout at Domlur around 10 p.m. Pullaiah's friend, Venkatesh, who was accompanying him, escaped the attack and informed the police. When police reached the spot, they found Pullaiah lying dead in a pool of blood. Pullaiah was an accused in a murder case and was released on bail recently, police said. Ulsoor police have registered a case of murder. In an incident in Tilaknagar police station limits around 10.30 p.m., Ramesh (30) was stabbed to death by five people, reportedly following a drunken brawl. Police said Venkatesh, Jaggi, Patel, and two others, allegedly attacked Ramesh and his friend, Mariyappa, after an argument in a bar in 9th Block, Jayanagar. When Mariyappa fled the scene, Venkatesh and his associates allegedly stabbed Ramesh in the abdomen and smashed his head with a boulder. Ramesh died on the spot. Tilaknagar police have registered a case of murder against Venkatesh and four others, who are reportedly absconding. Three die in accidents: Three people, who were injured in road accidents here on Friday and Saturday, died of injuries on Sunday. Madhu Kumar (25) of Mathikere, who was injured when a van hit his motorcycle near Yeshwantpur Circle around 11 p.m. on Saturday, died at NIMHANS on Sunday. Yeshwantpur traffic police have seized the van and arrested the driver. A woman aged around 70 years was injured when a vehicle hit her on Hosur Road, off Mangammanaplaya, on Friday night. She died in hospital on Sunday. She has not been identified. Her body is in the NIMHANS mortuary, police say. Madivala police have registered a case and are on the lookout for the vehicle which hit the woman. Balakrishna Reddy (40) died after a fall from his motorcycle on National Highway-4 in Peenya police station limits around 9 p.m. on Saturday. Murder accused arrested:Hebbal police have arrested Veere Gowda (31) on a charge of murdering his wife, Savitha (28), at their house in Bhadrappa Layout on July 14, 2003. In another case, Shivajinagar police arrested Anthony (46) of N.K. Palya on a charge of murdering Anand (25) on November 14. Anand, against whom there were criminal cases, was hacked to death by an armed gang near H.K.P. Darga in Shivajinagar, police said.
Body found:The High Grounds police found the body of a 55-year-old in Palace Grounds on Monday morning. The body, which has not been identified, is kept in the Bowring Hospital mortuary.
