BESCOM to resort to load-shedding

Bangalore Dec. 22. The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company has said that it plans to impose "unscheduled load-shedding" from 9 a.m. on Tuesday to 4 p.m. on Wednesday in some parts of the city for taking up emergency maintenance works on the 66 KV Adugodi-Jayadeva transmission line.

The areas which will be affected include: BTM Layout, J.P. Nagar 3rd Stage, Koramangala, Madivala, Jayanagar General Hospital, Marenahalli, Shanthi Park Apartment, East End Main, Tilak Nagar, old and new Gurappanapalya, Tavarekere, Weavers' Colony, Gottigere, Basavanapura, Begur, Mylasandra, Kothanur, Gowravanagar, Devara, Chikkanahalli, Vijaya Bank Colony, B.G. Road and surroundings, J.P. Nagar 1st State to 6th Stage, Dorasanipalya, Glass Factory, Chunchaghatta, Jaragenahalli, Syndicate Bank Colony, Hulimavu, parts of Kanakapura Main Road, Konanakunte, M.M. Industrial area, Bikekahalli, Arakere, MICO Layout, Jayanagar 1st Block to 9th Block, and surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., there will be a "regular power shutdown" at Beereswaranagar, Srinidhi Layout, old and new Bank Colony, Harinagar, Anjanadri Layout, Doctors' Colony, and Khodays factory, according to a note from the BESCOM.

Disconnection drive: BESCOM will take up "mass disconnection drive" from December 23 to 31 at Bilekahalli, Hulimavu, Arakere, Begur, Devachikkanahalli, Gottigere, Weavers' Colony, Kothanur, Basavanapura, Mylasandra, Thalaghattapura, Anjanapura, Avalahalli, Vajarahalli, Gollahalli, Tataguni, Agara, Kaggalipura, Somanahalli and surrounding areas, Electronic City, Chikkathogur, Dodathogur, Doddanagamangala, Channakeshavanagar, Singasandra, Mangammapalya, Hongasandra, Garvebhavipalya, Koodlugate, H.S.R. Layout, Ventakapura, Jakkasandra, KSRP quarters, CPWD quarters, Bellandur, Doddakanahalli, Kodathi, Mulluru, Sulikunta, Roopena Agrahara, and surrounding areas.
