Khumukcham stuns Srinath

KOZHIKODE DEC. 27 . Khumukcham Singh of Manipur, seeded a lowly 85th, stunned top seed N. Srinath of Tamil Nadu to take the sole lead with six full points at the end of the sixth round in the 17th National under-9 chess championship at the Chess India Complex here on Saturday.

In the girls' event, J. Mohana Priya of Tamil Nadu, Mohana Sengupta of Bengal and Priyanka Kumari of Jharkand shared the lead with 5.5 points each.
