Sir, I refer to the Election Commission's censure of Ajit Jogi and Amarinder Singh (Dec. 25) for blatant violation of the election code of conduct. Winning the elections is such an attractive prospect that politicians will go to any length to achieve their end. That the former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister allowed the State-owned helicopter to be used by his party president hundreds of miles away is not surprising. When the Congress ruled in most of the States and at the Centre, the party bosses and government functionaries frequently walked over the thin line that separated the party and the government.
