Two robbed at knifepoint

CHENNAI DEC. 28. Two persons were robbed at knifepoint in separate incidents in the fringe areas of the city last night.

The police said Ayyanar, riding a motorcycle on his way to Manali from Kannadasan Nagar, was stopped by two persons at 10.30 p.m. The miscreants took away a three-sovereign gold chain and Rs. 1,000 in cash after injuring him. He was admitted to the Government General Hospital.

In another incident, Prabhudas, going on a motorcycle with his wife and two children from Karimedu to Tiruvottiyur, was intercepted by three persons near the Tiruvottiyur railway gate. They snatched away Rs. 11,000 in cash and a mobile phone from him.
