By Our Staff Reporter

BANGALORE DEC. 28. The Chief Minister, S.M. Krishna, will dedicate the Rs. 65-crore toll-free Hebbal Flyover built by the Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) here on Monday, according to Jayakar Jerome, Commissioner, Bangalore Development Authority.

At a press conference here on Sunday, Mr. Jerome said the flyover was the fourth one constructed by the development authority. Three of the flyovers were on Hosur Road, Whitefield and Benniganahalli. The latest, stretching over 5.25 km with five loops, was built "in a record time of 24 months," he said.

This flyover was the longest in the country. It had two carriageways and was the "first in South India" to have interchanges at five levels. With two bus bays, the flyover had vehicle activated sensor-signalling system, he said.

Now, vehicles from the city can take a free left turn to Yeshwantpur on the Outer Ring Road, or a free right turn to Krishnarajapuram.

Vehicles on their way from Yelahanka can take a free right turn to Yeshwantpur and also a free left turn to Krishnarajapuram.
