Rs.4.79 lakhs taken away from three shops

HYDERABAD DEC. 28. Unidentified persons broke into three shops in Abids and Nallakunta police station limits in the early hours of Sunday and took away cash and property worth Rs.4.79 lakhs.

The owner of a gifts shop in Jagdish Market, Mohd. Khaja Pasha, lodged a complaint with the Abids police stating that thieves broke the locks of the shop and made away with Rs.15,000 in cash, 26 cellular phones and 10 calculators.

In another case, the owner of Padmaja Emporium in Tilaknagar, Madhukar, lost Rs.55,000 in cash after robbers broke into his shop. The Nallakunta police are investigating the case.

In the same police station limits, unidentified persons burgled Guru Selections, a clothes shop. The proprietor, Gurumurthy, lodged a complaint stating Rs.79,000 in cash was stolen.

Bar singer ends life

A singer in Maharaja Bar in Secunderabad, S. Anuradha, committed suicide on Saturday by hanging in her rented house at New Bakaram.

The victim's friend, Vijay, noticed the body hanging from the ceiling when he came to her house on Sunday morning.
