Five GRP personnel suspended

PATNA Dec. 29. The Government Railway Police have suspended five police personnel, including a sub-inspector, on charges of dereliction of duty following the molesting and attacking of some members of a theatre group from Jammu and Kashmir.

The group was on its way to Kolkata to participate in the National Theatre Festival last week.

The action was taken as these personnel did not inform the top brass about the molesting of the women members of the group and beating up its leader, Balwant Thakur, IAS.

The four accused, including Ashok Yadav, a ward councillor, are yet to be traced and have to failed to respond to the summons issued by the Government Railway Police.

Raids conducted last night to nab the culprits proved futile.
